mother dog with her litter

the invisible birds in the grove
held court in the trees
and the breeze made pathways
between the tall and unruly grass;
and the crisp morning air made my nose cold and wet;
and the walk pleasant and quiet
interrupted by the occasional tricky stone and slope;
and in company of random thoughts
and gathered whispers weakening of their own accord:
and then, unexpectedly, I saw the mother and her litter
in their quiet but active life
below a lone tree…I slipped by slowly, silently
careful not to be a rude appearance in their love and stillness
mother dog with her litter

Another soothing nature poem from you. It reminds us of the harmony in nature and the need for it in our lives.
